Livin' It Up At The Hotel California

California: once believed to be the land of milk and honey to farmers making their way from such states as Oklahoma and Kansas. The Dust Bowl had left many poor and downtrodden, and still, little changed once in California. Similarly, California today is a beautiful land that many look to when building a career, but the state itself is severely in debt and struggling to make it. With its exquisite wineries and cozy villas, California is the perfect getaway for the go-getter among us. Manchester State Beach at Point Arena is a perfect example of the ideal California beach - desolate, clean, and perfect for fishing, there is always something for every member of the family to enjoy.

Cruises are some of the most popular summertime vacations. $27 million has been spent this year on cruises and over 18 million passengers have been carried worldwide due to the ships' large size and carrying capacity. Visiting such wild destinations as Greece, Italy, and Mexico, cruises take passengers to the destinations of their wildest dreams. With such amenities as rock walls, ice skating rinks, and movie theaters, the whole family is occupied with a new adventure at all times.

Summer Lovin'

"If a June night could talk, it would probably boast it invented romance."
~Bern Williams

There's something about summer. It might be the heat or the bathing suits, but romance is always in the air. Novel after sappy novel has told of its throes. Seemingly, if a state of eternal summer came about, bikini-clad peace on earth could surely become a reality.

Doctor's Orders

To the dismay of many employers, vacations, which commonly take place during the summertime due to the long break that children have from school, are actually impeccably healthy for the body. Mainly, they are a portal to rest and relaxation. Less stress means a significantly reduced risk of heart disease and other stress-related health problems. In 1980, people in only ten other countries lived longer than we do. Now, people in more than 40 countries live longer than people in the US. If you lived in Europe, for example, you’d be half as likely than Americans to suffer from such chronic illnesses as heart disease, hypertension and Type 2 diabetes after the age of 50. These health risks deal greatly with the stress and immobility brought on by work. The only solution to this problem is for the modern employee to take as many vacation days as are given. So...does this mean vacations should be covered by health insurance? I think so.

Summer Stylin'

To the delight of many young fashionistas, summer is a prime time for style. With its bright colors and sleek designs, there is no better time to pull out that tank top and show off that tan.

Just Can't Get Enough

To many kids, summer is the ultimate time of year. It's when learning isn't necessary and parents don't nag about it. Still, there are many other advantages to eternal summer. The healthy effects of the sun for one's skin and hair is astonishing. There are vitamins the skin takes in that can only be attained from spending time in the sun. It is equally important to spend time in the sun as it is to limit that time. Also, those who spend time in warmer climates tend to be more fit and willing to exercise.

What is your favorite part of summer?
